Microsoft Systems Engineer - £22k to £25k p.a. - Manchester Systems Engineer with 2-3 years commercial experience with MCSE & Windows 2000*3 Server, Active Directory & Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 & 2000*3 with IIS is required for my Manchester client. Must have excellent knowledge of IPSEC VPN, WAN, LAN and firewall technologies, design and implementation, switches & routers (Cisco pref). The successful candidate will have excellent understanding in the running of Internet Services on NT* 2000*3 servers, using CISCO switches and routers. Must be able to set up monitoring stations, monitor and maintain servers remotely and be able to provide key assistance in building a NOC and data centre. Must have general network knowledge e.g. IP addressing, ability to understand network diagrams, management of multiple networks ranging from 10-user to a 700-user network etc. Valid driving license is required. Desired skills include Linux, Novell or Citrix. A good understanding of how Linux works and administration skills would be good to have in this role, but training will be available for the right candidate. Would be advantageous for the candidate to also have excellent knowledge and experience in configuring and installing, or at least administering high end firewalls, like PIX, Nokia and Checkpoint. Excellent knowledge of DNS, Antivirus software, in particular Symantec Corporate edition and Trend Micro. A well-presented and well spoken person will fit in with this growing, exciting organisation.
